Baseball cards are a part of the fabric of America and most every little boy and girl collects them at some point in their childhood. Of those, a select few actually keep them in decent condition. Even less hold onto them long enough for them to be found one day in the attic. Still, these baseball card attic finds do happen, and when they do they can be spectacular. One card, an old Honus Wagner, actually sold for over a million dollars. That said, where and how would you sell your baseball card attic find if you got so lucky? Here are five ways you can sell your baseball card collection, found in an attic or not.

Beckett.com

Beckett is the most trusted name in the baseball card hobby, and their online website is a source of thousands of collectors. It is also an incredible resource to price your collection, get cards graded, and trade with like minded baseball fans. There are numerous dealers, and a section where you can buy, sell, and trade with other baseball card collectors.

Ebay.com

Ebay is the number one online auction site for a reason, and baseball cards are not small reason why. Every single day, thousands of baseball cards are sold on Ebay. It is very important that you take special care to follow the rules, and pay attention to the bidders’ feedback ratings. Always get payment before shipping your baseball cards off to someone. Ebay is a wonderful baseball card selling place, but it is also a bit hit and miss.

Dealers

This is one of the best ways to sell your baseball card attic finds, especially if you like dealing face to face instead of online. Dealers are not as numerous as they were several years ago, and the ones that are still in business are usually pretty trustworthy. In today’s economy, the bad shop owners got largely eradicated. Still, you should check with others that have dealt with the shop and get offers from no less than three dealers if the baseball card collection has value.

Trade Shows/Flea Markets

If you have a large amount of baseball cards, or some extremely valuable cards, you might consider setting up at a Trade Show as a dealer yourself. This is a great way to liquidate some expensive cards, as usually the most passionate collectors attend these shows. On the flip side, if your baseball card collection is smaller and less valuable, you can certainly still sell them at the flea market in your area. Set up a table or two and sell some other stuff you don’t need around the house as well.

Classified Ads

This age old method of selling your personal property still works after all these years. Put an ad in the newspaper, or up on Craigslist and you will get more offers than you care to receive. This method is effective, though it is a bit of a pain fielding all those calls long after the cards are gone.

Finding those baseball cards in the attic can really be exciting, and knowing how to sell them can be even more thrilling. Take one or more of the steps above and you will have the cards sold in no time flat.
